Very good keyboard, a little bulky Review by primordius
After 20 years of IBM/Lenovo laptops I decided to try out mechanical keyboards.
The keyboard is excellent to type on, MX Clears, and the OEM profile takes a bit of getting used to.
Far superior to the flat rock hard keys of the latest Macbooks, and surprisingly better than the famous IBM/Lenovo scissor keys.
The only issue I have is the height off the desk the keyboard sits.
I'll get used it, I'm sure, or perhaps switch to DSA keycaps. (Posted on 4/26/18)
Loving this keyboard Review by Mark
Condition and operation have been perfect for this "open box" keyboard. The clear switches have also quickly become my favorite by far in terms of both touch and noise. If you're on the fence, do yourself a favor and just buy it!!! (Posted on 7/28/17)
Great value, still slightly damaged Review by Jake
The discount is well worth it and it looks brand new! Unfortunately, the b key is slightly unresponsive and has to be pressed twice sometimes to get it to register. Outside of this everything worked perfectly.

The Open Box CODE Keyboards are still under warranty against any mechanical or electrical defects, so please do contact us if there is a faulty switch on your keyboard and we'll take care of you. (Posted on 5/18/17)
Excellent except for the sound of the board itself Review by Craig
I am very used to my Das Keyboard v2 with (Cherry?) brown switches but I wanted to try 1) something more clickiness and 2) a TKL (tenkeyless) layout because it would put the mouse closer to me.

The clears are more resistant than I am used to with the browns, which are a very light touch and only barely tactile, but the clears are also more resistant so than I was hoping for. Having said that, I am getting used to them as I think I made fewer mistakes with the clears, and I know what others mean when they say that you feel like your fingers sort of guide and hover as you type, perhaps because there is less up/down per keystroke--at least compared with the browns. Oh, also, the clears are *quiet*! The browns are definitely quieter than a real clickity keyboard and I would argue that they are more than fine for an office environment, the clears are downright subdued so if you are looking for a really quiet guy, the clears should do it. To finish up about the switches, I'm going to seek out a good keyboard with blues because I want to experience a little more "clickiness" but I still want to give the clears a really good try.

The reason for the 4 instead of 5 is because of the keyboard itself. Yes, it has solid construction; however, it sometimes has a little-than-solid sound for some keystrokes. It's a subtle twang or ping that gives me the impression that the unit is less solid than I had hoped. Again, I'm used to my Das, which sets the bar high. (Posted on 11/2/16)
So far so good. Review by Jake
Just had this for a few weeks but so far I really enjoy it. Got the MX Clear switches and do enjoy them more than the MX Red and MX Brown I've had before. So five stars!
Really quick delivery to Sweden as well. (Posted on 10/31/16)
Fantastic Keyboard, Only One Small Issue Review by Tom
I purchased an open box 87-key (cherry mx clear) around a year ago. It was in near flawless condition when I received it, and a year later the only visible flaw is the wear on the w key which obviously is to be expected. I agree with Jones on the backlight brightness, the range and the intervals from which you can choose from should be more than sufficient for the vast majority of people. The build quality of this keyboard seems to be very good, nice thick plastic. And the key puller is a nice touch. I would recommend it to anyone. I also use a Filco Majestouch 2, but I prefer the WASD CODE, maybe that helps to give you some sort of frame of reference (cherry mx browns btw)?

Now, the one gripe I have is with the removable cable. First, micro-usb...it physically hurts when I think about how bad it is, please use literally anything else in future versions. Nobody wants that kind of evil in their life. From the first day I got the keyboard I have had to adjust the positioning of the cable to be just right because of the micro-usb port. If I move my keyboard even slightly, I have to unplug, replug and readjust the cable into the routing slot (the routing slot should probably be improved btw) and gingerly set the keyboard down on my desk. I will say, this unfortunate situation has helped me with my sledgefinger tendencies for what it's worth. Maybe this is an isolated incident but I assume not, because micro-usb... I beg you, please move to usb type-c or at the very least, provide an option for a non-removable cable.

Overall this is a fantastic keyboard I'll give it 4 out of 5 stars. Change the connector to usb type-c and/or have a non-removable cable option, and I'll change my review to 5 stars. When/if you do make these changes, if you let me trade in the micro-usb version, I'll send some naughties lol ;).

I will patiently wait for your reply via comment. (Posted on 9/30/16)
Solid product for a discounted price Review by Kokin
This is my second CODE TKL keyboard, with the first one having MX Greens. Quality is about the same and feels great to type on. This is an open-box item, so there were signs of usage, but was like-new for the most part. I'm glad that WASD keeps the same 2-year warranty on their open-box products.

Ironically, the white LEDs on my 1st CODE (MX Green) had a green-ish tint to them, while the ones on my 2nd CODE (MX Clear) are more of a natural white. (Posted on 9/10/16)
Hands down best keyboard I have ever used Review by Jones
I have been using mechanical keyboards for years now. I have always gotten a new one every so often as I have not found one that I feel is fully comfortable and satisfactory until I purchased this code. I picked up the 104-key for work and the TKL version for home both with Cherry MX Clear switches and I absolutely love them.

Most of the time, the backlighting on the keyboards is either too bright or too dim, the lighting on the code is adjustable and I found the perfect balance so that the keys are illuminated without giving off a crazy glow.

I will be recommending the code to everyone I know that is in the market for a mech keyboard. (Posted on 9/3/16)
