Quality sampler Review by cblupo

Quality sampler but would have like if all the cherry switches are included not just the most available ones (Posted on 6/11/18)

This tester has all the switch varieties I wanted to try out and compare in a relatively solid base, and the included O-rings were a great addition letting you experience the difference they make.

As others have said, even if you no longer need the tester (let your friends try it out!), it makes a nice desk ornament. (Posted on 5/14/18)
You will want a tester before picking your keyboard's switches Review by Grant

This tester functions great for getting a general feel for 6 of the different switches available at WASD. You should be able to get an idea of what switches you like or dislike after playing with the tester for a bit. I will agree that switches feel and sound a bit different when mounted to a full board, but the tester is what you will want to use if you can't find boards to test on where you live (which is a common problem).

That said, while the tester works great and does exactly what you would expect it to, it would be cool to see more switches available for the tester and the boards on WASD. (Posted on 5/10/18)
Very helpful! Review by FairyFloss

I was very confused about which keys I might like and with something this customised you want to get it right. I bought this tester so I could make sure my dream keyboard had the feel I wanted and I'm so glad I did! It's hard to explain the feeling of the keys so trying them out for yourself really is the best way to find out what you want. Definitely recommend getting this tester before purchasing a customised keyboard! (Posted on 5/7/18)
Excellent for helping you decide before you purchase Review by Dante

I got one of these on Amazon and I love it. It absolutely shows you exactly what the difference is between the switches, and just how much button-pushers like myself can differentiate between them. Even if you KNOW how they feel, it's a very cool showpiece to have friends test out, and, possibly get them into mechanical keyboards as well. (Posted on 4/21/18)

I purchased this through Amazon, not realizing it was a WASD product. I was not disappointed. If you're unsure what type of switch you want, this is the best possible way to determine that. What better way than to try them yourself? As an aside, it makes an interesting desk ornament after it has served its primary purpose. (Posted on 4/19/18)

Great little tester. Compare the switch options and make sure you get the one that's right for you. (Posted on 3/31/18)
Great to experience what I've read about so many times Review by Kev

This testing kit was great to get an idea of what the keys feel and sound like. My colleague's voted down the blue and greens, though tempted to get them for exactly that reason :-) I'm now curious about all the other switches. Product idea: working USB number pad with all different switches, both a tester and something useful, chucking in some led action would be good too. (Posted on 3/30/18)
Helps you decide which keys to get Review by Will D

This tester serves its purpose well. It gives you a basic idea of the key options that are available in terms of sound and feel, but as noted in an earlier review, the feel and sound of the keys in a complete keyboard is slightly different. (Posted on 3/22/18)
Pretty good, but ... Review by The Thor

So at work I already have the Ducky Shine 6 blue keyboard. I ordered the WASD switch tester because I want to buy a mechanical keyboard to use at home, and was wondering which switch(es) to choose for that. What came as a surprise is that the tactile switches (Green, White, Brown, Blue) were all a bit mushy compared to the blue in the Ducky. So all Cherry MX switches are not created equal? Or is there some other factor that affects the mushiness of the tactile switches?

Other than that, the tester is pretty decent - but it really didn't tell me enough about the switches other than emphasizing that I really don't like linear switches [black, red] (which is no surprise to me).

**REPLY FROM WASD SUPPORT**
There is some variance in Cherry MX switches, but the big factor is the mounting. Switches mounted to a keyboard plate and PCB will feel more solid than single switches on a small metal piece. The tester is meant to give a general idea of the switches feel, noise, and weight, but cannot directly compare to a keyboard. (Posted on 3/7/18)
