Amazing keyboard Review by Illia D
Rating
Took me a few days to get used to browns, but now I can't imagine me typing on non-mechanical keyboard. I really like brown switches because there's almost no effort when typing and you still can distinguish the activation point. On the whole CODE keyboard looks strict and feels very comfortable and solid. As for me I'm not using backlight often, but still this option looks very nice. I use keyboard in a working environment so I've also installed red sound dampeners which make it sound much more quieter when bottoming out.
I wish caps and num lock diods were brighter, actually they are a bit dim, so in a daylight you can't really tell whether they are on/off. There was some frustrating metallic noise from keys when bottoming out but it has fully gone in few weeks. (Posted on 6/2/16)

Pros:
+ Solidly built - really heavy
+ Rubber on the bottom is really good at stopping the board from moving around and works on an angle as well
+ Back lighting is excellent - the keys are lit up well and the white base underneath gives a pretty even "glow" around the edges
+ Key font is also excellent - no 'gamer' fonts to be seen
+ looks very professional, can be used in a corporate environment/in front of clients with no stress
+ I like the function/media key layout

Cons:
- Even though I bought a switch tester first (and paid $15 for shipping to Aus...) I can't say I'm a huge fan of the browns. Hopefully I can get used to them as I paid $260 Aud to get this keyboard...
- No code compatible PBT keycaps are available. There are some PBT caps that WASD stock, but some of the keys don't align to the back light properly so they aren't a proper solution.

Other:
+ contrary to some other reviews I have seen the function/media keys on the front (e.g. play, volume up/down etc) are back lit - just not much as normal.

Overall happy with the purchase. (Posted on 4/25/16)
Exactly what I expected and wanted Review by Uncle_Ebenezer

Great product. The LED lighting looks great...especially with the white background behind the keys. The 7 brightness levels are a plus. Nice and heavy build. Now I just need to make sure not to spill anything on it (Posted on 4/21/16)
Very Nice Review by Mike

This is a very nice keyboard. It's solid, looks nice, and works very well. I'm not going to go in-depth on why I like it, but I very much enjoy using this board every day.

Here are my nitpicks:
1. Meh keycaps
2. I don't love the media/fn key layout
3. Cable doesn't stay in the cable guides when moving the board

That said, I'm considering an 87-key version of this, because the backlighting is nice :) (Posted on 4/14/16)
My favorite Mechanical - after some mods Review by [email protected]

Love this keyboard. I plan to own it for a long time. It came out of the box with the spacebar not installed correctly, and after a year the left shift key started sticking. But I fixed both and it's perfect right now.

The might sound like a slight - but I pay a more to tune my piano twice a year (my real favorite keyboard) than I did for this one and much less maintenance.

I guess this is a warning review - plan on owning this thing for many years. (Posted on 2/17/16)
Awesome, totally worth it Review by litgeek

This is my first mechanical keyboard, and I am very happy with my selection. The keyboard has a very nice weight to it and doesn't move at all on my desk, which is really nice. I got the sound dampeners, which do make it quieter when you bottom out, but to be really quiet I still have to learn to touch-type. Since this is my first mechanical keyboard, the pressure needed to actuate the keys really surprised me- because it was so easy. When I do buy a new one, I personally will be going with the clears rather than the browns. A solid (weight and quality wise) keyboard, overall I would strongly recommend. (Posted on 1/26/16)

Couldn't be happier about this purchase. I use this keyboard at work, and asides from the backlight, it does not visually appear to be much different than a normal keyboard.

The backlight on LOW is still noticeable, but it is very faint, if only it went maybe 1 or 2 shades lighter, then it would practically be invisible on my desk.

I opted to have the RED O-Rings installed and while I was skeptical at first, I like them much better than I thought I would. I have a keyboard at home with the RAZER ORANGE switches, which are basically browns, and I much prefer typing on my CODE keyboard with the O-RINGS installed.

Not being able to truly bottom out just feels so good, and it keeps my keyboard silent.

Before I used this keyboard I borrowed a friends keyboard with MX BLUES and everyone in the office (10 cubicles or so) was complaining after about an hour.

I can't say I have messed with any of the switches on the underside. I pretty much left those alone.

REALLY HAPPY, LOVE THIS KEYBOARD (Posted on 12/2/15)

Excellent! Review by vahnn

I've been looking for my first entry into the world of mechanical keyboards for quite some time, and I think I got a pretty good one to start with. Loving the Cherry MX Brown switches.

The build quality of this keyboard is, to put it simply, fantastic. It's heavy and sturdy, two qualities I'm looking for (I game on my couch with keyboard on my lap and a hard mousepad on the couch cushion next to me), and this thing has huge, solid rubber feet on the bottom, with 2 in each close corner and one in each back corner, with each foot being about 1.5"x.5". This thing stays in place! The lighting on every key is perfectly crisp and clear, and the lighting under they keys is very even as well. No distracting blank or dim spots.

I do have 2 small complains: The first is a few of the keys seem to make a "springy" noise upon releasing the key. It's only about 4 or 5 keys, and it's not consistent, but every once in a while I hear it. When I'm gaming, it's not a problem, but times when I'm typing in silence, it can be pretty distracting.

My second complaint is pretty specific to my situation of gaming with my keyboard on my lap and not resting on a flat, solid surface: the kb connects to your PC via a microUSB port on the kb to a USB on your PC. There are several channels in the bottom of the kb to route the wire with small detents along each to hold the cord in place. I'm sure it works great on a flat surface, but in my situation, with nothing solid and flat under the channels, the wire tends to fall out and then put stress on the microUSB connector as the cord hangs down from the keyboard. Again, very specific to my situation. I'll probably wrap something around the cord to make it fit snugger into the channel and detents without getting sticky residue from tape on my kb.

All in all, it's a wonderful keyboard and if I ever need another, I think I'll come back here for it. (Posted on 10/22/15)

I have both the brown and clear CODE keyboards. I like the brown keys much better. (Posted on 10/13/15)
