Perfect Keyboard Review by Timothy

I got this keyboard because I wanted a compact mechanical keyboard for work, where I spend a lot of time typing code.

This thing is solid; the metal base gives it a nice weight, the construction feels flawless, and the performance is quite up to my standards. I went with Cherry MX Browns in order to not make my coworkers deaf, and it is an absolute pleasure to type on.

The way I use it is on a Macbook Pro but frequently interact with a Windows 10 VM and it works excellent with both. Programming the layers is pretty straightforward and it only took me an afternoon to get used to using the function key to hit home, end, the arrow keys, etc.

My only complaint with this is the single LED on the left side of the spacebar when you use anything other than the default layer. It can't be disabled, but a little bit of electrical tape takes care of that  . (Posted on 7/12/16)
Very happy with this purchase Review by David Wuertele

As others have said, the build quality is top notch. If WASD builds an ergo model I'm going to buy at least two. (Posted on 7/10/16)

Exactly what I wanted Review by Liam

I had a Cherry MX Clear CODE keyboard which I thought was really great, but I didn't like the stiffness of the switches. I had a CM Storm keyboard with Cherry MX Brown switches, but it didn't have a hard switch to Dvorak. There are issues in the IDE I use with the OS input language and keyboard shortcuts.

Originally, I'd planned to replace those two keyboards with a CODE keyboard with brown switches, but I started looking into 60% keyboards, and the pok3r seemed to be most of everything I wanted. When WASD partnered with Vortex on the VP3, it seemed like the obvious way to go. I thought for a second about the 61-key CODE keyboard, but I found the keycaps wore very quickly on the CODE.

Typing on the VP3 feels very much like typing on any other mechanical keyboard. It's very solid, and the browns perform exactly as well as I'd hoped they would.

There's a bit of a learning curve with navigation, but that's on me, and this keyboard is awesome.

There is one complaint I have with the keyboard, though. There are volume key shortcuts, but nothing for play or pause. Yes, there are software solutions I can pursue, but they don't travel with the keyboard the same way everything else does.

That's a minor niggle, and I haven't let it dampen my enjoyment of what is really a fantastic product. I'd recommend it to anyone who's looking to dive into 60% mechanical keyboards, whether Dvorak, QWERTY, or Colemak is your preference. (Posted on 5/6/16)
